Code Amendments, Future Land Use and Zoning District Map Update
The Town of Abita Springs recently adopted it’s Master Plan and Desire Line is assisting with Plan implementation.
Work included development of short-term subdivision amendments (approved March 2024) and amendments to repeal of the Planned Unit Development District (approved August 2024). The Desire Line Team is currently working on additional code and map amendments that:
Clarify commercial and historic district regulations,
Include a Future Land Use Map in the Master Plan to guide development decisions, and
Update zoning districts in alignment with the Master Plan and Future Land Use map.
To conserve the Town’s resources and make the most of the public’s time and participation in ongoing community development projects, Desire Line is leveraging outreach and engagement efforts associated with the Safe Streets for All Planning Grant to maximize planning impacts and encourage participation in Town planning processes.
